A Ladies Haven at ROKA in Pacific Place

(Hong Kong, 5 March, 2010) – Japanese robata grill ROKA in Pacific Place is luring ladies throughout the day with a wide choice of healthy options and a popular afternoon tea to revive weary shoppers.

A healthy, low-fat lunchtime treat proving to be a huge hit with ladies is the new tokusen chirashi don, a premium sashimi selection with egg over sushi rice (HK$228).

“The ladies can’t get enough of it” says Executive Chef Patrick Zepho. “The high quality sashimi and the fulfilling rice provide a tasty and satisfying lunch”

A wide range of healthy options on the menu also features ROKA’s chirashi don which includes a sashimi selection with avocado and chilli soy (HK$158), as well as the sushi moriawase (HK$198) a selection of high quality sushi and sashimi over rice.

For those ladies who prefer the warm flavours of ROKA’s robata grill, lunch choices served with tasty red or white miso soup, pickles, salad and rice; include sake teriyaki, charcoal grilled salmon with teriyaki sauce (HK$168) and gindara saikyo-zuke black cod with gingered saikyo miso (HK$228).

The homely venue styled around a cozy, traditional charcoal grill is also wooing ladies of leisure with a unique afternoon tea menu, served daily from 3-6pm.

Tasty treats with coffee or tea include a range of four desserts such as praline and strawberry macaroons, tropical fruit sorbet, dark chocolate and hazelnut custard, and lightly-steamed banana and Madagascar vanilla cream.

In the heart of one of Hong Kong’s most fashionable malls at Pacific Place, ROKA is ideally located for ladies to take a break from shopping with friends.

The restaurant is named after the Japanese for a gathering place where people meet to socialize (RO) and a welcoming, burning fire (KA).

ROKA’s warm atmosphere is also perfect for a cozy dinner with friends and family.

“ROKA is specifically designed as casual and informal to create a sociable atmosphere for guests to relax,” said Rainer Becker, the award-winning chef, who co-founded the concept with the Waney family.

Its wine cellar houses over 500 wines, including 25 choices sold by the glass, and non-alcoholic cleansers and freshly made cocktails are a huge hit, The bar also boasts a wide range of sake and well-being tonics made from Shochu, an ancient Japanese spirit.
