(Hong Kong, November 16, 2009) – The much-talked about Coast Bistro & Bar has JUST opened in the heart of SoHo.
With its Grand Opening on November 21, Coast is set to wow SoHo, "proudly serving fresh produce" for all–day-grazing: breakfast, lunch and dinner at 1st Floor, Kinwick Centre, next to the Mid-Levels Escalator at 32 Hollywood Road.
Coast’s daily highlights include market-fresh fish air flown from Australia and New Zealand, complementing the restaurant's name and theme. Prime steaks and signature cocktails are specialties of the new concept bringing "the very best that Australia has to offer".
Signature dishes include: lamb shank and chestnut pie (HK$160), crab and asparagus risotto (HK$140), and prime beef (from HK$230) -- Petit fillet, Porterhouse, T-bone and 1kg rib-eye –individually aged from grain fed Australian beef.
Coast’s sophisticated dining area seats 110 in cosy booths and tables including an inviting communal table at the entrance, making it the perfect venue for social gatherings and private parties.
Coast’s Bar – set to be one of the best drinking spots in town – seats up to 70 people in a chic alfresco area open to the elements and overlooking SoHo. To top it off, Coast’s wine selection boasts a beautiful wine cellar stocking over 1,000 bottles of international wines.
At 4,855 sq ft, Coast is SoHo’s largest bar and dining venue -- designed for meeting friends or colleagues for a meal, casual drink or coffee 'on the go'.
The culinary team is headed by Executive Chef Aaron Kearney, who is a former Bondi Beach surf lifesaver turned chef who has fed noted celebrities including the Dalai Lama and Beyonce Knowles. Kearney most recently helped opening “Boomerang” in Singapore.
The interior designers, Matt Shang and Paul Semple from Distillery Studio, play with textures and design to give diners the ‘Coastal’ experience in a sophisticated and warm environment. Fun features such as the use of tiles to evoke the look of real fish scales; sandstone, mirrors, timber and white terrazzo all work together to conjure up the feeling of coastal beauty.
Coast aims to be Hong Kong’s first fully LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) certified bar and restaurant, with all building products and furnishings utilised to make a minimal impact on the environment, including zoned lighting and air-conditioning, censored water taps and energy saving fittings and lamps.
The concept is a family-owned and operated business headed by Managing Director Kate McGettigan, a 15-year veteran of the hospitality industry in Australia, and Marketing Director Brian McGettigan, a former advertising expert with M&C Saatchi and Whybin/TBWA in Sydney.
Coast is open daily from 8am-3am.

. After last post on marketing without search engines, I decided to follow up with a strategy you can use to get quality free traffic. One of the easiest ways to get visitors to your web site is to spend money. Nothing is more effortless then paying for traffic. But if you can’t afford it or don’t want to pay, there’s an equally simple but free way to get traffic: ad swaps.
