(Hong Kong, November 13, 2009) – Six Senses Destination Spa Phuket, a new Wellness Retreat created by world famous luxury resort brand Six Senses, was voted ‘Destination Spa of the Year’ in the 2009 AsiaSpa Awards held last night in Hong Kong.
The newly-opened destination spa is on its own private island, Naka Yai, off the coast of Phuket. Designed as a ‘premier destination spa for the 21st century’, the retreat offers multi-day, integrated health programmes and a wide array of therapies by world renowned wellness consultants.
Drawing on Six Senses’ 15 years experience in pioneering luxury spas worldwide, it focuses on preventative wellness, helping to enrich lifestyles through complete immersion into healthy and mindful living.
The retreat promotes wellbeing in a “sustainable learning environment that inspires lifestyle choices, creating harmony through nourishing products, transformational treatments and passionate service”, said Six Senses founder and CEO Sonu Shivdasani.
The Wellness Village, which is the spa heart of the property, features four interrelated spa concepts that will delight the eye as guests set about achieving their goals. The themes are Chinese, Indonesian, Indian and of course Thai, covering a footprint of more than 7,000 square metres.
Accommodations are all 450 sq. m. private pool villas, surrounded with edible landscaping. Mostly one bedroom, there is also a three-bedroom 2,500 sq. m. Retreat on The Hill and a cluster of villas called The Enclave, which is ideal for a group of friends or even members of the Board looking to focus on wellness mixed with a little executive decision-making.
