Celebrate a Gourmet Christmas at Capella Singapore

SINGAPORE (November 13, 2009) – Capella Singapore, the new luxury resort on Sentosa Island, is celebrating its first Christmas with a series of festive dining experiences including heart-warming Christmas menus at The Knolls, elegant Chinese fine dining at Cassia, and festive drinks and tapas at Bob’s Bar.

Throughout the joyous season of December, Bob’s Bar is serving a selection of Christmas cocktails at S$22++ each. Guests can choose to enjoy full-bodied spirits, rare premium wines and Cuban cigars, at the classic and intimate indoor bar or relax at the alfresco bar with a panoramic view of the South China Sea.

Specially designed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day menus are available on 24th and 25th December at The Knolls, Capella Singapore’s all-day dining restaurant and Cassia, the Chinese fine dining restaurant. For Christmas Eve The Knolls offers a sumptuous 7-course dinner and on Christmas Day a 6-course dinner both including pre dinner cocktails and canapés. The Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas Day dinner at The Knolls are both served with a glass of Champagne at S$168++ per person / S$58++ per child (below 12)

Canapés include a selection from Mille Feuille of Foie Gras with Apple Compote, Jasmine Smoked Game Hen and Tuna Tartare with Yuzu, Wasabi and Japanese Soy. Next on the menu is an amouse bouche followed by a buffet selection of antipasti from the tea counter. Both menus then include a warming soup of either Pumpkin or Sea Crab, followed on the Christmas Eve menu by a refreshing Cranberry Lime Sorbet. A selection of three main courses is available on both menus including Traditional Roast turkey. The Christmas Eve and Christmas Day dinner menus are completed with a dessert buffet featuring a selection of sweet treats such as Mini Christmas Pudding, Lemon Swiss Rolls and Kaya Profiteroles and a ‘live’ station for Crepe Suzettes.

On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, Cassia is serving a choice of two 6-course set menus for S$176++ per person or S$206 ++ per person. The first set menu features Smoked Turkey Salad, Braised Four Treasure Soup, Crisp Cereal Australian Lobster, Steamed Winter Melon and Pumpkin ‘Kirin’ Style, Fried Rice and Minced Beef finished with Warm Almond Citrus Cake. The alternative menu includes Chef Lok’s signature combination of foie gras with crispy Peking duck skin and chilled Australian pork belly, Braised Shark’s Fin, Pan Fried Lamb Rack, Steamed Bay Cabbage, Braised Eu Fu Noodles and a Herbal Jelly and Chinese petit four to finish.

On 25th December, family and loved ones are welcomed for The Knoll’s Christmas Day Grill and Chill Lunch. A selection of festive fare complete with chilled appetizers, a grilled selection of fresh seafood and meats and a spectacular dessert buffet awaits. At S$138++ per person, this heart-warming treat includes free-flow of Rosè wine, draft beer and a variety of soft drinks.

Capella Singapore also has a selection of Christmas hampers filled with Roast Turkey, European Christmas delicacies and delicious Christmas goodies. The Capella Christmas Hampers are available for throughout December and prices start from S$280++.

Post-Christmas Blues are a thing of the past at Capella Singapore as the resort ramps up the festivities to welcome in the New Year. The resort is hosting a stylish New Year’s Eve party, which includes a five-course Mediterranean gourmet dinner at The Knolls, premium Champagne and full premium open bar, live entertainment from Karina Serbina, soprano from the world famous Bolshoi Theater in Moscow followed by DJ duo Brahms & Co from Paris, dancing and late night snacks. Limited tickets are available at at S$800++ per person.

On New Year’s Day, Capella welcomes guests to the grand ballroom for an evening fashion extravaganza complete with a four-course dinner, followed by open bar at Bob’s Bar till 1am. Fashion and theatre costume designer Josef Statkus will be showcasing his chic couture collection, with shoes from celebrated designer, Manolo Blahnik. Lithuanian Josef Statkus counts Naomi Watts, Kyra Sedgewick and Princess Mary of Denmark among his clients. The New Year’s Day Celebration is priced at S$550++ per person.
