GRAND MARNIER®'s 2009 Holiday Season Limited Edition is 'Irresistible'


(Hong Kong, 2 October, 2009) -- France's most popular export liqueur Grand Marnier® is celebrating this year's winter holiday season with a playfully red limited edition of its classic Cordon Rouge, named 'Irresistible'.


Adorned with vivid red lacquer, it is the 7th of a series released annually by Grand Marnier® since 2003.


This year's theme celebrates a "playfully indulgent" holiday season with elegance and a slightly unorthodox yet refined adventure for the taste buds.


Only 300 bottles of the 2009 'Irresistible’ Limited Edition are available in Hong Kong in select high-end bars and specialty outlets, including Watson’s Wine Cellar and Oliver’s.


As with its forerunners in the series which has become a collectors' item, 'Irresistible' introduces a distinctive yet ephemeral variation on the mythical bottle -- reinterpreting the legend of the brand with a twist of modernity.


It pays homage the first limited edition series launched in 1927.


Inside the bottle, Grand Marnier® remains a sophisticated, instantly recognisable blend of oak barrel-aged cognacs and a rare, tropical, delicately perfumed fruit – the bitter Citrus bigaradia orange.

For 'Irresistible', Grand Marnier® has created two unique new recipes:


To prolong the afternoon:

30ml Grand Marnier® Cordon Rouge liqueur

60ml strawberry juice

40ml apple juice

10ml freshly squeezed lemon juice

Combine all ingredients in a tall glass filled with ice and stir.



As an aperitif:

30ml Grand Marnier® Cordon Rouge liqueur

30ml strawberry juice

20ml apple juice

10ml freshly squeezed lemon juice

Shake all ingredients together in a shaker with a few ice cubes. Strain and serve in a cocktail glass.



Suggested garnish: a cape gooseberry dipped in red caramel
