British Pub, British Chef, British Food, British Troops, British Families!
British Food Fortnight 2009 at The Punch Tavern.
The Punch Tavern in Central London (famous for their home made British food) is supporting British Troops during British Food Fortnight 2009
The Punch Tavern is encouraging customers to be proud of their regional food and to recognise the efforts of our troops in Afghanistan and their families.
Between Mon 21st Sep and Sat 3rd Oct the Punch will be offering 2 for 1 on selected meals. If you choose to pay full price the Punch will donate the cost of the second meal to the newly-formed charity Afghan Heroes. The offer can be obtained by showing a British Flag which are being sold for £1 at the bar, with all the proceeds going to charity.
The menu available for the offer includes Head Chef Dee Whooley’s Award Winning British Pies and Roast Carvery that change daily. The team at the Punch roast their own meats and hams and make their own pies, burgers, salads, chutneys, terrines and puddings. They choose to use some of London’s best suppliers who source meat from UK farms.
Afghan Heroes was formed by a group of mothers whose sons lost their lives in Afghanistan in July this year. It aims to provide support for the families of those who have fallen on duty in Afghanistan (now more than 210), as well as providing support for those on the front line and returning service personnel.
Head Chef Dee Whooley said: “There is so much here to support that we are passionate about. British Food, British troops and their families”
Owner Sunnil Panjabi said: “For these two weeks we can celebrate what we are about and support two great causes”
The Punch Tavern is located at 99 Fleet Street London. This offer will run between 11:30am and 3pm Mon 21st Sep -Sat 3rd Oct 2009 during British Food Fortnight.
