(Hong Kong, July 31, 2009) – Prized organic Australian beef is a sensation on the menu at Pacific Place mall’s popular robata grill, ROKA.
ROKA, known for its delicious Robata dishes, has become a hit with meat lovers with new prime cuts grilled over one of the very few charcoal grills in town. Diners are swarming after the succulent grain-fed beef sourced from Japanese-owned Rangers Valley in the northern tablelands of New South Wales.
From the cool, stress-free pastures a thousand metres above sea-level, signature main cuts perfectly grilled over the restaurant's Robata grill include sirloin (8oz, HK$235), ribeye (10oz, HK$295), tenderloin (8oz, HK$360) and the much sought after Porter House (35oz, HK$1,200).
Also new on the grill is prized Wagyu, served with fresh wasabi (HK$580), along with koushi-style veal chop (HK$360) and buta niku grilled pork chop (HK$265).
The new organic range of grilled beef and meat is served with a choice of six must-try sauces -- spicy, ume miso, barley miso, shiso béarnaise, teriyaki and wafu - adding a perfect Japanese twist to the delicious steak options.
ROKA’s menu also serves up a selection of delicious grilled vegetables to go perfectly with their tasty meats. Vegetables dishes such as Eggplant in mirin, ginger and soy; grilled sweet potato; grilled sweetcorn; grilled courgettes and more are a match made in heaven.
Another Japanese summer specialty complementing ROKA’s renowned robata grill menu is refreshingly chilled handmade noodles, served with dipping sauces.
The tradition of thin soba noodles made from buckwheat, and thick udon noodles made from wheat, dates back to Japan's 'shogun' Tokugawa era, from 1603 to 1868 -- when inexpensive noodle shops were like today’s 'fast food' cafes.
In addition to organic beef and traditional noodles, ROKA’s menu features premium sashimi and sushi, miso soups, tempuras, rice hot pots, signature dishes such as spicy beef and pickled cabbage dumplings, and unique desserts.
Premium sake is also recommended, including refreshing 'jumai' sake with hints of green apples and ripe pears priced at HK$280, and 'daiginjo' flavoured with banana and chestnut at HK$480.
ROKA Hong Kong is open daily from 11.30am – 10.30pm.
