(Hong Kong, June 30, 2009) – Modern British restaurant and bar The Pawn is celebrating summer with a Friday night DJ, refreshing wines & cocktails and to top it off a gastronomic truffle menu.
Beginning July 3rd, D.J. Nat King Soul will be performing every Friday night from 9pm to 12am in the Living Room. Acclaimed for his deep musical knowledge and ability to blend diverse styles, he's highly sought after for exclusive events throughout Asia. Whether it be classic Hip Hop, House, Indie Rock, Brazilian Funk, French Electro or Jamaican Dancehall beats, expect to hear something different when he plays.
The Living Room, renowned for its laidback ambiance and wide selection of cocktails, is also offering a refreshing selection of summer cocktails, priced at $88 to beat the heat as you kick back and chill out from a day’s work. Highlights include heady temptations such as the frozen orange Tropical Lightning, Pawn Classic - a delicious twist on the ubiquitous Mojito; gorgeous strawberry perfection Pawn Dream ; citrus-inspired Midori & Frangelico granita End of the Road; Sunbeam bursting with sunny flavours of pineapple, orange, banana and rum; and the mellow vanilla tones of Butterscotch Summer.
In the Dining Room, the summer truffle tasting menu is a treat for gourmets. For long, the revered delicacy has only been in season through the winter months from France and Italy. Now it can also be sourced from the southern hemisphere in summer.
Executive chef, David Tamlyn from London, has created a decadent tasting menu that highlights the exotic headiness of the summer truffle - soft boiled duck egg and asparagus 'soldiers' with summer truffles and salad; beef carpaccio, pickled quail’s eggs, summer truffles and rocket; seared sea bass with truffle tapenade; roast truffle chicken with port wine gravy; and dessert of chocolate truffle cake with butterscotch sauce and gold leaf.
This tasting menu is available on its own for $580 or for $780, each course will be paired with a specially selected wine to complement its flavours. The menu is available until the end of August.
