Zurich’s historic Dolder Grand which was reopened in Spring 2008 as a sensational, Norman Foster designed ‘city resort’, is offering complimentary nights from April 3 to 30, 2009 to celebrate the first anniversary of its new incarnation.
The Dolder Grand reopened on April 3rd last year following a four-year, multi-million dollar renovation and extension, and to celebrate, one of Switzerland’s most venerated grand hotels is offering guests one night free for each night booked, up to a maximum of four nights.
“We cannot think of a better way to celebrate our first birthday than to share it with our guests with a special gift of thanks for their support.” said Managing Director Thomas Schmid.
The historic Swiss landmark attracted world wide acclaim in its first year and was recognised as the world's top new or renovated hotel in international travel and design magazine, Wallpaper's 2009 Design Awards.
It collected the prize for 'Best architecture - Conversion of an existing building' in the European Hotel Design Awards 2008, and was tipped among the 'Top 15 hotels in the world to watch' in Travel + Leisure's (US) World’s Best Awards 2008. The UK Tatler awarded it the Tatler Spa Award for Smartest Escape, while the hotel's signature fine dining venue, The Restaurant, was awarded 1 Michelin Star and 17 Gault Millau points.
