A Vintage Love Affair to Remember at Claridge’s

Where better to celebrate Valentines than the Grand Dame of timeless romance itself, Claridge’s.

(January 19th, 2009) - Since 1898, the Art Deco jewel of Mayfair has attracted the world’s premier sweethearts. Not only were Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy frequent visitors, but the latter loved the hotel so much that he declared: “not that I intend to die, but when I do, I don’t want to go to heaven, I want to go to Claridge’s.” This Valentine’s Day, lovebirds can follow in their iconic footsteps by spending a night at Claridge’s and taking advantage of the decadent selection of treats on offer.

‘Love is in the Air’ for the entire month of February, from the moment guests arrive they will be greeted with Sapphire Rose martinis, served shaken over ice and garnished with a single washed rose petal. Alongside four heart-shaped rose macaroons, delicately crafted by Claridge’s Pastry Chefs, gorgeous Jo Malone gifts will be waiting in the elegant accommodations to delight loved ones, perfect for pampering and unwinding. Packaged for him, the award winning Pomegranate Noir Cologne and for her, the enchanting Jo Malone Red Roses fragrance.

Guests relax in the finest marble bathtubs in London with Asprey bath salts before enjoying complimentary in-room movies, from romantic Hollywood classics to brand new releases. Guests will enjoy a romantic turn down service, wake to a full English breakfast and can take the time to revel in the romantic splendour of Claridge’s with a late check out until 2pm.

Also available during the month of February and suited to the most discerning Valentine, Claridge’s has created the definitive romantic getaway, ‘A Vintage Love Affair to Remember’.
