The Dolder Grand

Zurich’s iconic ‘city resort’, the newly reopened Dolder Grand, is offering romantic Valentine’s packages featuring a host of luxury treats.

The historic Zurich landmark has been transformed into a stunning, modern 5-star city resort by world-renowned London architects Foster and Partners. The conversion and renovation combines innovative building and design technology with restoration of many original architectural features to their former glory.

Ideal for those seeking an indulgent romantic getaway, the inclusive stay includes one night in a Double Room Superior, spa pampering, dinner in the Garden Restaurant, a romantic turndown service and Continental breakfast from CHF 1,360 for two people, with upgrades available to deluxe rooms for as little as CHF 80 or up to CHF 460 more for a Junior Suite Grand. All rooms offer unrivalled views of the city, lake, Alps or forest, while Junior Suites and Suites include whirlpool tubs and steam showers.

Start the day with ‘Massage Therapy by Kerstin Florian’ - a relaxing 90 minute treatment for each person. Treatments are at the exclusive new 4,000 square metre Dolder Grand Spa, a unique ‘temple dedicated to well-being’ created by renowned American spa consultant Sylvia Sepielli.

The Spa’s facilities reflecting European and Japanese influences include a generous-sized swimming pool with panoramic views, a Ladies’ and Gentlemen’s Spa, workout, movement and mind-body studios. In the Sunaburo, guests can experience the health-giving effects of lying surrounded by warm “pebbles”, Japanese-style. Treatment rooms offer space for a wide range of treatments including facials, manicures, massages and body treatments. Two luxurious spa suites are available for private relaxation and a special rate of CHF 300 for 3 hours is on offer, subject to availability.

Served with a glass of Champagne, choose from either a four course dinner included in the CHF 1,360 package or indulge in a seven course dinner as part of the CHF1,540 package for two. The airy, modern Garden Restaurant serves light European cuisine and boats 500 different wines. From your candlelit table enjoy the magnificent views of the city, the lake and the Alps.

The four-course menu starts with smoked duck carpaccio with herb salad, nut-pesto and pear, followed by potato soup with salmon, char caviar and spinach muffin. The main course is lamb fillet with fennel, tomatoes and olives. An indulgent baked chocolate cake with mandarin ice cream and dates completes the meal.

End the day with a romantic turndown service which includes a ½ bottle of Veuve Clicquot Champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries.

The offer is valid on Saturday 14 February 2009. Direct bookings only.
