INDIGO PEARL APPOINTS SPORTS SPECIALIST TO ESTABLISH WORLD-CLASS RECREATION PROGRAM

(Hong Kong, November 12, 2008) – Qualified sports coach and karate master Darren Brinkman has been appointed Recreation Manager at Phuket’s distinctive lifestyle resort, Indigo Pearl.

“Indigo Pearl already offers an exceptional range of recreation activities catering for a wide range of interests and I intend to take that to a new level with original, world class activities and facilities,” he said.

The 4th Dan black belt karate teacher is heading up a new world-class recreation programme at the award winning resort, where Thai heritage and contemporary style meet in a strikingly different resort experience enabling guests to create holiday activities to suit any interest and activity level and all within the spacious, creative surroundings that is Indigo Pearl.

He brings with him a sound foundation in sport science, personal training, track and field coaching and badminton, squash and basketball.

In karate, he studied under one of the world’s leading masters, Bernard Creton and took part in both the European full contact (knockdown) championships and Karate World Knockdown Championships in Tokyo.

He also has 15 years of blue chip corporate experience with British Airways, where various roles included Cargo Sales & Customer Service Manager for Russia & Ukraine, and IT executive for Northern and Eastern Europe.
