Hong Kong’s Best Selling WOM Guide Launches its 4th Edition

Hong Kong’s Only Survey Based Restaurant Guide
Decided by the People for the People

(Hong Kong, November 26, 2008) - WOM Guide, Hong Kong’s best-selling eating out ‘bible’ separating the good, bad and ugly is about to launch its fourth edition - written ‘for the people, by the people’.

It includes reviews of more than 1,300 dining establishments in Hong Kong compiled from 5,000+ members’ comments who have had the pleasure of spending a whopping HKD405, 000,000 on dining out in the last 12 months!

WOM Guide 2009 covers everything from traditional tea houses and the humble noodle stall to Michelin starred eateries, luxury hotels, private dining rooms and tourist favourites.

It is Hong Kong’s only survey-based restaurant guide giving short and honest accounts of experiences…”quick service”, “excellent desserts”, “the duck is a must”.

WOM makes life a whole lot easier and eating out a breeze with its quirky WOM Choice section at the front of the book.

Summarising the best places to eat at for a certain event or activity, old favourites include “where to treat your in-laws” and “where to go on a first date”, in addition to new categories in the 4th edition such as “the best places to kiss”, “the best designed restaurants” and places to “drive and dine” in Hong Kong.

HOW IS THE FOURTH EDITION DIFFERENT TO PREVIOUS EDITIONS?

It might be a cliché to say the bigger, the better, but this is indeed the case with the 4th edition. In response to readers’ feedback, the 2009 WOM Guide is slightly bigger in size, and covers many more restaurants in town, offering much wider accessibility.

The WOM team has also added user-friendly symbols for quick reference. For those who prefer al fresco dining, the guide now includes a “Sun Symbol” next to restaurants that offer this option. It also tells readers which outlets are pet-friendly after the Sunday hike with the dog and which offer a BYOB policy (Bring-Your-Own-Bottle) with no corkage charge.

In the same instance its user rating system has been simplified and “Food”, “Service” & “Ambiance” are now rated on a simple 1 to 10 scale.

Many restaurants have also provided their signature dishes should people need recommendation or guidance to selecting dishes.

WOM Guide 2009 will officially launch on 18th December 2008 at Bookazine in ifc, 6:30pm - 8:30pm.
