(Hong Kong, 30 October, 2008) – Celebrity Australian chef Jared Ingersoll, a pioneer of the global ‘slow food’ trend and international ambassador for sustainable farming and cooking, will be guest chef at Bonnie Gokson’s SEVVA restaurant from December 1st – 12th.Bonnie Gokson says “I have great pleasure in introducing Jared to SEVVA, and to Hong Kong. Jared is highly respected in his field, he mirrors my beliefs on good living and cooking with the freshest produce, and as my first guest chef, I know he will delight!”
Guests can expect the finest wholesome cuisine from Jared. He will be creating, exclusively for SEVVA, an extensive selection of dishes for dinner, as well as a tapas menu, for which he is well known for.
Bonnie has, once again, used her clear eye for talent and taste in picking Jared Ingersoll. He is the perfect match for SEVVA as he is passionate about simple and honest cuisine. Famous for his seasonal cooking with fresh produce, he lives and breathes the ethos of good food shared with friends and family.
Over the years Jared has cooked at some of London’s top restaurants including Head Chef at the Bayswater Brasserie, The Square in Mayfair and Terence Conran’s Mezzo in Soho. He then moved to Sydney to set up his own restaurant, Danks Street Depot in Sydney, which was named Best Café in the SMH Good Food Awards.
After opening Danks Street Depot he achieved celebrity status, making numerous TV appearances and has been the long-time ambassador for ‘slow food’ representing New South Wales at the international Slow Food Conference in Italy.
Jared also takes pride in running Danks Street Depot in a sustainable and ethical manner, promoted through food education and events such as the ‘Danks Street Festival’ and Farm Project.
